Kensington Gardens, London, is now officially open to the public, with the first of its new flower shops to open in the capital.
In the UK, Kensington Garden is the second-most expensive flower shop in the world, according to Luxury Flowers, which tracks the market’s annual sales.
But in the US, the Royal Garden in New York is the only other flower shop that has a “floral” designation, and it’s the only one that has been around for over 50 years.
“Kensington Gardens is one of the most exclusive locations in the UK for the purpose of producing high-end luxury flowers, but we’re hoping to get a wider audience to visit,” the Kensington branch’s founder, David Mackey, told The Verge in a statement.
The new flower shop will sell a wide range of luxury products, including a selection of roses, tulips, rhododendrons, and more.
The shop will open in November with a limited number of items available at launch, and plans to sell more in the coming months.
It’s a sign that Kensington is starting to take flower gardens seriously, with a lot of the capital’s top flower sellers offering flowers for sale on their sites.
